Rules and Regulations
Format: Pool Play and/or Bracket Play
Check-in: No later than one-half (1/2) hour before the scheduled starting time.
Rules of Play: National High School Federation rules as modified by National AAU. ALL ROSTERS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW
Game Format: Grade 5th and below 18 minute Halves Grades 6th and up 20 minute Halves
Clock stoppages on Timeouts, and last 1 minute of each half
28.5 Ball for 9U-11U Boys
Slaughter Rule: If one team is 20 points ahead, the clock will continuously run thru the last minute. ALL HIGH SCHOOL GAMES END AT 20 POINT LEAD AT 2 MINUTE MARK! THIS IS TO ELIMINATE ANY EXTRA ACTIVITIES AND LAST MINUTE INJURIES
Fouls: Players get 6 fouls before being eliminated. Double Bonus after 7 Team Fouls
Technical Foul: Any Player or Coach that receives 2 technical fouls or ejected from a game will be suspended for remainder of the tournament and has to leave the gym.
Timeouts: 3 Full Timeouts for the game
Tie Games: Overtime - 2:00 Double OT is Sudden Death. 2 Fts, 2 pointer or 3 pointer
Home Team: Teams listed first for pool play will be the “home team” and wear white or light colored uniform tops. The home team will provide the game ball and the official bookkeeper.
Visiting Team: Teams listed second for pool play will be the “visiting team”. The visiting team will wear dark-colored uniform tops.
Miscellaneous:
1. Eligibility questions will be resolved by the Tournament Director based on Competition Rules in the National AAU Boys Basketball Handbook. A player must meet age exceptions to play in their division. Each team should have player ID and/or birth certificates on hand.
2. No person other than the bench coach of a participating team (of the game in progress) will be allowed to attempt to communicate with game officials and/or scoring table personnel during the game.
3. For any protest to be considered, the head coach of the team submitting the protest must submit the protest in writing with $200.00 cash within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the game. 4. The head coach of any team is responsible for the conduct of the coaches, players, and team’s fans. Behavior of a disruptive nature (at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director) will result in ejection from the tournament. In the event that the spectators become unruly the game will be called and the final score will be the current score of record
5. GAME TIME IS FORFEIT TIME!!
ALL TEAMS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING THEIR BENCH AREA AFTER THEIR GAME.
